For those who didn’t watch Donald Trump‘s lengthy interview with NBC’s Katy Tur this afternoon, here’s a one-sentence summation: The Republican candidate constantly chided and condescended to his interviewer, talked smack about his critics, and repeated all the same claims he’s made about Mexico over the past few weeks.
Asked whether he’s concerned about gun violence in America, Trump responded that he’s a “big Second Amendment person.”
And when Tur asked whether he owns a gun, the following exchange ensued:
TRUMP: I have the license to have a gun, yes, I do.
TUR: Do you own one?
TRUMP: Yes, I do.
TUR: Do you use it? Gun range?
TRUMP: That’s none of your business. It’s really none of your business. I have a license to have a gun.
TUR: Gun control?
TRUMP: What are you talking about?
TUR: Or stronger background checks?
TRUMP: Yes, I have a gun and, yes, I have a permit to have a gun.
TUR: Stronger background checks? What about that? Is there any steps that you would take to make it harder to get a gun in this country?
TRUMP: Once you get into that, you start getting into a situation, the slippery slope where all of a sudden you’re going to really violate the Second Amendment. I don’t want to do anything to violate the Second Amendment. To me, the Second Amendment is very important.

Several elections ago he was for an AWB and ban on normal capacity mags. I’m glad to see he has evolved if this isn’t just for votes...
I wouldn’t have voted for Trump in 2000, or Reagan when he was a Democrat, but I’d vote for Trump in 2016.

I think he has evolved. The interesting question would be, why?
Donald Trump was born in New York City in 1946. In the late 1960s, circa 1970, he began voting. He was a Republican until 1999 when he started on an Independent Party streak, then a Democrat Party streak, and in 2009 registered as a Republican.
It was in 2009 that he married a woman from Slovenia. Go to www.wikipedia.org/ to read about the modern history of Slovenia, and I believe that is the perfect example of what horrors socialism and anarchy can wreck on a nation and people. It was at one time part of Yugoslavia.
There are people on FR who level the claim that D.Trump is a lifelong Democrat. Not true, but NYC is run by Dems and, no doubt, Trump donated to those who he believed would help his business. Ah, yes; the business strategy of choosing the lesser of two evils!
I think that Trump has determined that First Principles are now more important than choosing the lesser evil in an election.
Whoever Katy is, she got brutal KO’d in this video...

I am hearing that Trump is # 1 in more than one of the new polls. Fox is holding release but the results leaked out live on the morning Satuday show when Tucker Carlson said something like “the lastest Fox poll shows Trump (mumble) ahead of bush by 1 point”. If this is the case it will rock the political world. I am sure that Roger Ailes ( a bushie) was horrified as I’m sure he was forcing a mulligan ( new poll) and didn’t want it to get out. They have got to stop the momentum!!They can’t when idiots like “I can’t name anything I would cut” Perry keeps Donald’s great illegal alien control issue in the media for the entire day!! Still not a Trump fan but my opinion of him jumped a couple points.
