From a legal, technical, perspective..... the appeals process is probably over. It's cover to say "we're asking them to reconsider and during that time we're not going to remove it"..... while giving time for the amendment to pass. But its all good. Local radio is lighting up the airways. In Oklahoma these judges are confirmed by a vote of the people periodically. I think they're hoping the ACLU goes to the feds at this point.

Not unusual for a top court to give the losing government time to amend their ways and work around the ruling (see: SCOTUS giving DC months to find a new & insightful way to suppress RKBA despite its broad & absolute ruling). So in this case, given that moving the monument in a restorable fashion is very difficult, the OK court should give the gov time to adjust the legislation leading to the given verdict.

I hope they go though with it after they have a reasonable time to reconsider. It sounds like the good people of Oklahoma would back them up. They are one of the saner states in the nation.

The typical republican would take down the 10 commandments and say how hard we are going to fight this. Then you’d never see the 10 commandments again unless you open your bible.
