I have always been uneasy reading descriptions of obvious foreign cultures living in a foreign country identified as the belonging to the host country, whether they have actively or passively resisted assimilation into the host culture or not.

To me it doesn't matter if the person is born in the host country or "naturalized."

"Belonging to a culture is a state of mind, not a fraudulent document, a perjurious oath or a functional, obvious and deliberate disconnect from the host culture. If there is a name for that state of cultural dissonance, I am not familiar with it.

Other than malignant parasite of course.
