“Nobody can say Donald Trump did not invest his fortune and sacred honor in this run.”

Trump has NO sacred honor, just an overabundance of foolish arrogance. He is hurting himself and by association, all members of the GOP.

Trump is just grabbing the miles and miles of low hanging common sense fruit the GOP put off limits and let rot on the vine. It has always been there for the grabbing but the ballless GOPers would take it. Your being really stupid if you think this is going to stop. Go Donald go.

It's amusing that you are so concerned about Trump hurting himself.

As opposed to a foolish overabundance of acceptance perhaps?

It is an established fact that presentation of an extreme opinion will cause observers to redefine what they see as moderate, and those who want to be “moderate” will alter their views accordingly.

By saying what is basically the conservative position on immigration, Trump is pushing everyone’s views rightward - something which could happen no other way with the liberal media. As he does this, he is focusing all of the flak which would otherwise go to Cruz, Walker, or Paul on himself.

Unless we want every subsequent candidate to be afraid to speak the truth or support conservatism publicly, we need to stand behind him. He is opening the door to other candidates taking more rightward positions, without fear of attacks. If we attack him now, every candidate from now on will sound like Jeb Bush, and I wouldn’t blame them, because we will have shown them we don’t have their backs.
