This was a one day fund raiser. I expect some money was
spent in prep, planning, etc.

The tournament, which is scheduled for July 14, will now be held at
Pelican Hill Golf Club in the Los Angeles area. In a statement,
ESPN noted that the event will benefit the Stuart Scott Memorial
Cancer Research Fund, a program that honors the late “SportsCenter”
anchor by “providing resources for important cancer research for
minority populations, including Hispanic and African Americans.”

Yes it’s a one day event, but they had to hold the course open for the event, so it is a loss for the Trump organization.

They generally charge a per-head fee and block all other golfers on the day.

This would leave the charity out in the breeze. Trump could simply announce he did have a contract, that he would lose x thousands of dollars, and tear up the contract on screen due to the nature of the charity cause.

It would show he had much more class that those who seek to block his utilization of the First Amendment.
