Ted Cruz voted in favor of the globalist TPA (fast track TPP and two other secret globalist deals). I like Cruz but actions (votes in the Senate) indicate he supports a globalist world view.
Yeah I’m bothered by that too. And his wife’s CFR history.
He made/makes no bones about his support for “free trade”. He made that crystal clear during the whole TPA flap. It is what it is, if one supports him, one must acknowledge that as a fact, at least, if not also support “free trade”.
I’m still not so sure. On the one hand I certainly don’t want the USA to be left out of the global market. On the other, NAFTA-style “free trade” has hurt our manufacturing base it seems to me. I just don’t see a way around it, without imposing highly restrictive tarrifs on imported goods. Which defeats the whole point, IMO. (I doubt a country would want to do business with us if we tax their goods too highly).
It’s a rock and a hard place situation.
