I was absolutely shocked at the condition of the infrastructure.
Same is happening here in NJ; there is no money left to fix anything. County & state roads fare better than others, but local streets are a mess. All the money is going to current government workers’ salaries (especially teachers) - never mind the present value of their ridiculous retirement packages.
When you see “Stop” signs overgrown by brush, you know it is all over; we’re spending so much on the guys that used to maintain them (that retired twenty years ago) there is nothing left to pay someone to do it today...
How can we hope to attract new businesses when they’d just be buying a share in a massive IOU?
