Three Illinois governors have been sent to prison in my lifetime and there's long list of other Illinois politicians convicted and sent to prison for corruption while in office. Not at all surprising that our present comes from Chicago.

I grew up in the SW 'burbs. Would take the BN into Union Station.

I've bought two cops, one alderman, one traffic court judge. That Obama was 'elected' not once, but twice, used up all my faith in the electoral process.

In 1968, my grandfather got a vote reminder card from the Cook County Democratic party. When my father called them to point out that Granddad had been in Waldheim Cemetery since 1940, they thanked him and offered to update the voter rolls.

I like to think that Granddad still voted Republican in the 1942, '44, '46, '48, '50, '52, '54, '56, '58, '60, '62, '64, and '66 elections, anyhow, but I have my doubts.
