The decision reportedly clashes with the employees religious beliefs. Their last day will be July 14.Currently, the Decatur Countys clerk office will not issue a same-sex license.
They should have resigned effective immediately.
The Justice Department will come after them if they refuse a single license between now and the day they leave.

It's a small rural county about halfway between Nashville and Memphis. I wouldn't be surprised if some homosexuals from Nashville or Memphis drive there and demand a marriage license, now that it has gotten publicity.
In 2004, Bush carried Decatur Co. by a few hundred votes, but McCain beat Obama by a 2-1 margin. Must be a lot of Islamophobes there.

An employer always has the option to make it effective immediately. They did the right thing giving notice.

Maybe they have some vacation days to use before their departure.
