I know those in very rural areas don't need to worry so much, but those of us, for one reason or another may be stuck in the 'burbs - we shelter-in-place, and wait for the first wave to dissipate.

If you are talking about the United States:

We could add about 11 million illegal criminals coming through our borders (but we won’t consider the number of illegals since we don’t really know how many there are).

It is estimated 3% of the regular population has any stored goods and that is 9,630,000 (9 million,630 thousand). So, only 9 million+ citizens out of 321 million have any stored goods. That means 311,370,000 (311+ million) have NO stored goods.

That means those 311+ million will start dying after 3 days without water - those with water will start dying after 3 weeks without food.

One’s best bet for making money is to invest in caskets, buy low now while one can and sell high as the demand will be enormous.

I got a foodsaver almost 2 years ago. It is very useful. especially the canning jar lid attachment. I have many jars and it’s great for nuts, flour, rice, oats.

That is a good start...something to consider...when the crash occurs, all that you have at that point in time will be what saves your life... prepping is pretty much over at the point of time we crash.

There is some sort of delicious irony in the fact that Greece has definitely helped my preps.

Several years ago they returned 350,000 (that's the number I heard - actual may be different but it was a lot) M-1 Garands that the US had loaned to the Greek Air Force in the 60's. They left them nicely sealed up in a warehouse and when they got here the Army turned them over to the CMP who sorted and sold them. I picked up, let's say, more than one. They are still available for $630 and far and away the best buy on a 30 caliber semi-auto rifle designed to drop a man and not just incapacitate him.

And then there is the HXP M-2 ball ammo they sold to the CMP who offered it for sale.
