Brought a tear to my eye.
Just beautiful!
Cross the ocean in a rickety rustbucket called a ship, and find yourself, ten years later, with an honorable discharge from the US Air Force and an MS in Chemical engineering and the world wide open for you. Only in America can this happen to a scared immigrant.
America, my great love.
Hmmm...maybe I’ll put the flag up after all.
Beautiful and moving. A quibble: Wish they had sung the entire 1913 version, all four verses, and not mixed & modified the lyrics.
Celebrate Hillsdale while you can. Who knows what kind of attacks that the gaystapo will launch on conservative/religious schools.
One advantage for Hillsdale — they reportedly take no govt. money of any stripe. That may give them a better footing to beat back the Stalinists, fellow travelers, useful idiots, atheists, & perverts.

True for federal aid, perhaps, but employment is another gaystapo wedge. If a Hillsdale worker gets engaged to same-sex partner, how is Hillsdale to stop the marriage?
If the school lets them get married, a nest of gay employees could raise unholy hell at the school.
One might ask why gays would want to work at a conservative school in the first place. Because gay radicals have launched the politics of tyranny. They vow to destroy every last outpost of freedom in the country — from churches to schools to workplaces.
Agree it might occur. Tyranny is tyranny. We’re still a (slightly) right of center country overall. Homo “marriage” might be the tipping point. I see civil diobedience by the majority that could escalate to something larger. Facing down of the Feds by the Nevada rancher’s supporters is one of a number of recent examples.
