Recall that the jihadis traded for Bergdahl were Taliban -- which was not involved in the attack on the Benghazi consulate.
However, a group named for Sheikh Abdul Rahman ("The Blind Sheikh") was. Further, the then-recently elected Egyptian president -- Mohamed Morsi -- was known to be close to the Libyan rebels...and seemed to get along well with President Barack Hussein Obama.
Accordingly, it has been speculated that the attack was a pre-arranged deal between Morsi and Obama designed to kidnap the ambassador and use him as a chip to trade for The Blind Sheikh.
Which would also explain why it was necessary for Obama and Hillary to come up with a cover story on short notice...no matter how preposterous.
