The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod, Mollie’s church, on paper allows women to do ANYTHING except be pastor. This includes the office of “elder” and congregational president.
Men are supposed to be the spiritual leader at home, but when they get to church, they are just children under the pastor like everyone else.

I’m a little late to this thread, but in the LCMS, the significance of the office of “elder” varies from congregation to congregation. The LCMS does not permit women to serve in that office where elders have doctrinal duties or serve as counselors to the Pastor.
