Rebranding Tradition

Here’s the problem with getting rid of standards you find outdated, such as the Ten Commandments or traditional morality: In the chaos that inevitably results from their absence you wind up trying to concoct something to replace them with without calling it by the same name.

Consequently, you wind up trying to disguise the original guidelines. David Brooks fumbled around with this in a recent column and Yale has created an entire center devoted to bringing back self-control and discipline without ever once using that old-fashioned terminology.

“Put aside a culture war that has alienated large parts of three generations from any consideration of religion or belief,” Brooks wrote. “Put aside an effort that has been a communications disaster, reducing a rich, complex and beautiful faith into a public obsession with sex. Put aside a culture war that, at least over the near term, you are destined to lose.”

“Consider a different culture war, one just as central to your faith and far more powerful in its persuasive witness.”

“We live in a society plagued by formlessness and radical flux, in which bonds, social structures and commitments are strained and frayed. Millions of kids live in stressed and fluid living arrangements. Many communities have suffered a loss of social capital. Many young people grow up in a sexual and social environment rendered barbaric because there are no common norms. Many adults hunger for meaning and goodness, but lack a spiritual vocabulary to think things through.”

Meanwhile, up in New Haven, “The Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence uses the power of emotions to create a more effective and compassionate society.”

“The Center conducts research and teaches people of all ages how to develop their emotional intelligence. We do this work because the well-being and sustainability of our society depends on each of us using our emotions intelligently.”

In Western Civilization, the "something to replace" traditional morality is called Islam.

Is that what they call it when Yale has their sex week?

Is that developing the emotional intelligence of Yalies???

Is the slogan heard at sex week, that “no means yes, and yes means a*al, some intellectual development milestone?????

Didn’t C S Lewis write that the final religion of the devil would be something akin to an atheist magician?

WHY I HAVE AN ILLUMINATED CROSS AS A PROTEST

Why are those so called democrats which belong to a democrat in name only ever being called out on their core beliefs ? Nooo that wouldn’t be bi-partisan !

Ask any of those so called GOPES (Government Over the People Elite Statists) campaign advisors about depressing the “democrat” vote and you get a lecture.Democrat core beliefs showed up with booing the mention of God in 2012 which made it official.

They’ve declared a war on religion particularly Christianity.Which I for one now have an illumiuated crucifix at night in my front yard facing the street (Highway) as a statement. And encourage others do as well

A DEMOCRAT apparently doesn’t believe there’s such a thing as the Ten Commandments or sin because everything that leaves their mouths is a lie.

But I have yet to hear a Republican candidate even suggest even in jest mention why “democrat” lying is part of their core belief ? Never mind the use of their positions promoting clony capitalism campaign contributers financing alternate energy plans spending billions which went belly up at our expense while leaving our infastructure was falling apart......

Why ? Because it isn’t being bi-partisan or lets not forget the other trap politically correct

So when the left challenges the Ten Commandments, aren’t they really saying we SHOULD be covetous, lie and commit murder?

None of the ideas and attitudes are by accident, it is intentional, and perhaps have also noticed it is increasing day by day. Soon Christians will be under the not acceptable code. Do we want this?

History has told us this story over and over.

America has had and flourished under the United States Constitution and it is rapidly being unraveled before our very eyes.

God Bless America.

I had forgotten about that - booing God at the Democrat Convention.
