Why is it that we frequently hear that prior period reports have been revised downward?

And why is it that the revised numbers from prior periods are never publicized much by the media??

But the media run with the current numbers, assuming that they will never change, especially if it benefits the current incumbent if they do so???

Yeah, the revisions almost always seem to go down, don’t they?

I’d like them to just wait a few months until they get solid information before they release ANY stats. But that wouldn’t make the politicians in charge look good.
