Little to cheer about in June jobs report: Even has Unemployment Rate Drops to 5.3%
American Thinker ^ | 07/02/2015 | Rick Moran

The U.S. economy added 223,000 jobs in June, and the "official" unemployment rate dropped from 5.5% to 5.3%.

But the labor force participation rate dropped to a 38-year low, and there were 60,000 fewer jobs created in April and May after adjustments.  It's absolutely amazing that four years after the supposed "recovery" began, more people have stopped looking for work than ever.

The Hill:

The number of people in the labor force fell by 432,000, a reason for the lower jobless rate, while 56,000 fewer people were employed, sending the participation rate down to 62.6 percent, the lowest level since 1977.

But Austan Goolsbee, a University of Chicago economics professor and former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, reminded on Twitter that with baby boomers hitting retiring age, it is expected that the labor force participation rate will keep hitting record lows for the next 12 years, at least.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed fell by 375,000.

Jobs growth was centered in the service sector — retailers added 33,000 jobs, the healthcare sector tacked on 40,000 while leisure and hospitality jobs increased by 22,000.

Manufacturing only added 4,000 while construction employment was unchanged in June.

Wages, another closely watched indication of the economy’s growth, were flat last month.

We are becoming a nation of sales clerks, waitresses, maids, and bellboys.  Real job growth is being strangled by government red tape and regulations.  And the assault continues on the coal industry.

5.3% is a false number.

It does not include millions who have quit looking for jobs and are now
on the government dole.

If you want to understand how delusional the left is in this country, go read the comments for the same story at HuffPost...

Some of those people are simply brainwashed...

Does ANYBODY still believe the fairy tale in regards to the “official” unemployment rate?

No matter how thin you slice it, baloney is still baloney, and it will NEVER become filet mignon. And no matter how much mayonnaise gets slathered on it, it is still a cheap filler, processed and reformed into a substance for consumption by the masses.

Must be the new common core math at work here. Fewer people with full time employment and the unemployment percentage rates keep dropping. Gotta get me some of that. Think it’s great now, wait ‘til the hildabeast gets in there. Maybe she’ll appoint scupper lip to be one of her advisors.

Any candidate that vows, and follows through upon election, to make sure that these numbers are not fudged, adjusted, what ever and to make the U-16 numbers the “official” unemployment numbers gets a tick in the “vote for and support becasue of” column from me. Get enough ticks, and they’ll be the one I pull the lever for.

REAL UNEMPLOYMENT IS: 42.9%

IT’S NOT THE WEAKLING 5.3% THE ADMIN IS THROWING OUT THERE.

Just curious, who is providing this number and how credible is he?

The 93 million people not working- is the elephant in the room real unemployment figure that matters. Zero unemployment could be achieved (based on labor figures) and it would mean diddly squat. Predictably, LIV’s are being spoon fed the Rainbow Mosque’s narrative of improving data. We are saying the same things. Appreciate your company FRiend.

Rush talked about the report yesterday - if you go to his website, you should be able to find a link to the report. It’s an economist who’s name you will probably recognize.

The goal is to get the number down as close to 4.7%, ( which is statically 0% unemployment ) by the time a Republican gets into office in 2016.

Then suddenly, overnight, it will be corrected to double digit unemployment, showing how evil republican policies are.

Also, homelessness, poverty and Aids will suddenly be back on the front page.

Been around this tree too many times...

Glad to have the company. At least not everybody is falling for the left’s garbage.

But, for what it’s worth .. the 5.3% is a symbol of what’s wrong with Obama .. the 5.3% number is LOWER THAN IT WAS WHEN BUSH LEFT OFFICE. So, this to me is just another sign of why Obama keeps allowing the false numbers .. to prove that Obama is better at managing the economy than Bush was.

Wow .. I’ve never seen a president so thin skinned. Destroying everything Bush is Obama’s main concern.
