Following a week of controversial firings by everyone from NBC and Universal to Macy’s, Donald Trump appeared on “CNN Tonight” Wednesday and defended the comments that sparked the current racial firestorm.
Host Don Lemon suggested that Trump had misunderstood some of the articles he read on Fusion or the Huffington Post about Mexican immigrants, telling the presidential candidate: “That is about women being raped, it is not about criminals coming across the border and entering the country.”
“Somebody is doing the raping, Don. Are you saying its women being raped. Who is doing the raping?” Trump bluntly asked, referring to a 2014 Fusion article reporting that 80 percent of Central American migrants passing through Mexico are raped. “You have to stop illegal immigration coming through the border. If you don’t, you don’t have a country.”
Earlier in the interview, the TV mogul declared his love for the Mexican people — despite his declaration speech last week that slammed the country and said they sent over rapists, drug-runners and criminals. “I love the Mexican people. I’ve had a great relationship with Mexico,” Trump told Lemon.
“I am talking about illegal immigration, because it has to be stopped. It is killing our country. People are pouring over the borders. I guess some come from Mexico but they come from all over the world. They come from the Middle East, we don’t even know where they come from,” he marveled.
Looking dumbfounded, Lemon asked: “Why did you have to say they were rapists?”

i cheer every time some organization drops him, because I know he’s going to get the best of them. I know he’s going to speak out and actually (gasp!!) say the truth.

Trump is saying a LOT of good things....but really, is this rape comment one of them? Is that our big problem with illegal immigration, rape? Really? Seriously?
I do think one problem of illegal immigration is unaccompanied men. They may or may not send money home to their family. They often find a new honey while here, and sometimes have Dream Babies. It’s bad for people on both sides of the border.
Maybe its the Duke Boys. Did anyone see the General Lee parked nearby?
It matters to the women being raped. Build the fence and worry about the illegals after it is built.

Geez, I’m sure it happens, but I would submit that a whole lot more rapes are done by citizens than non citizens, just on the size of the two populations.
When Univision stated that 80% of the women from South America were being raped on the long journey, they said it because they wanted the USA to fly the ILLEGALS in and avoid the long over land travel.
Was there any push back from the msm then? We know the answer to that rhetorical question.
How do you know this? There are rapes all over the country by illegals and that doesn’t bother you? Do murders bother you? Your dislike for Trump is irrational.

There was an article a few days ago about a very high percentage of the "migrant" (invader) girls being sexually abused, including rape. Also about over 100 of these invaders being imprisoned for murder.
Trump is absolutely 100% correct that all kinds of crime and lots of undesirables (paraphrasing) being a large part of those crossing the border.
Trump is correct, and I suspect the vast majority of law-abiding moral US citizens agree and are glad someone finally has the courage to speak out.

I applaud his courage, I like a lot of what he said.....I don’t think this is the way to go about it though.
And the migrant girls? Are they raped by the pedros or the gringos?
Just sayin........this is majoring in a minor collateral issue - in the big picture. Certainly on an individual basis, it’s big, but not in perspective of the real problems with illegals.
No, but horny, unaccompanied men create problems. Some do rape.
