Six Senators Demand Ex-Im Bank Liquidation Plan

Ex-Im Bank supporters were wrong if they thought the bank’s opposition would trail off after the charter’s authorization expired on June 30.

Six Republican senators Wednesday demanded a plan for “orderly liquidation” of the bank in a letter to Chairman Fred Hochberg.

Ex-Im supporters felt modest comfort Tuesday knowing that a lapse in the charter’s authorization didn’t mean total demise, as it could still service existing accounts until Congress voted for reauthorization — if Congress voted for reauthorization.

But the letter points out that one of the few allowable actions the bank can take without reauthorization is to “exercise certain functions for purposes of orderly liquidation.”

And like sharks circling a fresh batch of chum in the water, the gang of six demanded details of the plan, such as identifying which employees are part of the liquidation plan, justifying why their continued employment is necessary, producing a report on the dissolution of the Board of Directors, ending the administration of the bank’s website and other mortal remains.

The gang of six includes three presidential candidates, Marco Rubio of Florida, Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky; one of the most vulnerable candidates up for re-election in 2016, Patrick J. Toomey of Pennsylvania; freshman Ben Sasse of Nebraska; and Mike Lee of Utah. They’ve given until July 15 for a response.

The biggest Ex-Im Bank assistance goes to defense contractor---Boeing----which enjoys a whopping 40 percent of the entire Ex-Im’s assistance! Does Boeing really need corporate welfare? Massive corruption and fraud usually accompany such humongous federal outlays.

SURPRISE---GUESS WHO ELSE WAS POCKETING BIG-TIME FROM BOEING DEALS?

Clinton Foundation Donors Got Lucrative Weapons Deals From Hillary's State Dept
International Business Times ^ | May 26, 2015 | By David Sirota / FR Posted by Oldeconomybuyer

Even by the standards of arms deals between the United States and Saudi Arabia, this one was enormous. A consortium of American defense contractors led by Boeing would deliver $29 BILLION worth of advanced fighter jets to the United States' oil-rich ally in the Middle East.

Under then Sec-of State Clinton, the State Department approved $165 billion worth of commercial arms sales to 20 nations whose governments have given money to the Clinton Foundation, according to an IBTimes analysis of State Department and foundation data.

That figure -- derived from the three full fiscal years of Clinton’s term as Secretary of State (from October 2010 to September 2012) -- represented nearly double the value of American arms sales made to the those countries and approved by the State Department during the same period of President George W. Bush’s second term.

American defense contractors also donated to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state and in some cases made personal payments to Bill Clinton for speaking engagements.

Such firms and their subsidiaries were listed as contractors in $163 billion worth of Pentagon-negotiated deals that were authorized by the Clinton State Department between 2009 and 2012. (Excerpt) Read more at ibtimes.com ...

WASHINGTON EXAMINER--Boeing reportedly wrote a check for $900,000 to the Clinton Foundation just after the State Department intervened in a multi-billion dollar deal between the Russian government and the aerospace company.

While Boeing lobbied the agency during that time, it had given a total of between $1 million and $5 million to the foundation.

"Boeing's contributions to the Clinton Foundation were primarily for school rebuilding programs in Haiti following the devastating earthquake in that country," said Boeing spokesman Tim Neale. Neale noted some of the company's contributions went through the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, a charitable effort that he said "transcended politics and recognized the work that needed to be done."

NOTE--At last report, Boeing was refusing to handover its email exchanges w/ Hillary.

CLINTON CASH AFFIRMS---Boeing Gave to Clinton
Causes After Hillary Steered Its Russian Contract

The Washngton Examiner ^ | MAY 5, 2015 | 7:04 AM | BY SARAH WESTWOOD / FR Posted by drewh

Boeing gave heavily to the Clinton Foundation after Hillary Clinton helped it secure a major deal with a Russian airline in 2009, author Pete Schweizer noted in his book, Clinton Cash.

The company was also involved in funding one of Clinton's pet projects at the State Department after the agency reportedly brushed aside ethical guidelines to secure a $2 million contribution.

Boeing remains a major partner of the Clinton Foundation, supporting Clinton Global Initiative projects and donating between $1 million and $5 million to the charity. The company also gave $2 million to support the State Department's efforts to host a pavilion at the 2010 World's Fair in China, an event that became highly politicized given the "pivot to Asia" policy Obama's State Department was to pursue. Schweizer notes a $900,000 donation from Boeing to the Clinton Foundation came on the heels of a multibillion dollar contract between the Russian government and the aerospace behemoth.

Clinton pushed for the $3.7 billion deal in Russia as part of a policy she had dubbed "economic statecraft" in which she "would use her diplomatic leverage to help American companies be more competitive overseas," Schweizer wrote. (Excerpt) Read more at washingtonexaminer.com ...
