“... but the McConnell endorsement surely cinches this among grassroots righties as the official RINO position ...”
Really; HotAir couldn’t be more wrong. In the first place, “grassroots righties” are CONSERVATIVES .. not the Elitist “RINO” people.
You FReepers should have voted for me. At least I wouldn't have any false pretenses on destroying America. Now you'll die a slow, agonizing death rather than a fast, clean one.
Mitch McWeasel strikes again.
How does he stand with a spine of jelly?
Modest Constitutional Proposal. Pass laws or amendments to:
1-do away with stare decisis. It’s not stare decisis if it was decisis stupidly.
Allow Congress to FORCE the court to re-adjudicate ANY case IF there is a new member on the court.
2-Allow chief justice or congress or some other body to recuse justices. Justices can’t be counted on to recuse themselves as is the case now. There are THREE justices that did not belong on marriage case.
3-Article 3 section 2 already allows, as far as I understand, congress to deny court the jurisdiction. Strip the court of jurisdiction over abortion, and marriage and declare it’s decisions null and void.
4-simply declare the marriage decision null and void over three justices failure to recuse themselves. It has never been done, but the lawlessness of the court gives us no choice.
What an idiot. Congress can vote on plenty of laws protecting religious liberty. Senate can approve more conservative judges. Even liberal laws (or stupid Supreme Court decisions) that are supposedly constitutional can be overturned by conservative justices later.
What an idiot McConnell is.
Article III, Section 2: ...In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make...
Way to stand up and be a man there, I mean Mitch. (I always spell his name wrong the first time, like with a B)
There is a simpler solution already underway, and a few others even simpler still.
we don’t need 2/3rds of congress if we can get 2/3rd of the states to go to convention.
A convention about generally pulling back Washington.
Anyone who says that supreme court opinions are “the law of the land,” or “settled law,” or anything like that, is one of three things: completely ignorant of the Constitution, or a coward, or evil. Take your pick. But it matters little which of the three it might be. Either way, our form of government is destroyed.
