West Midlands Police, Britain’s second largest police force, withheld a report about gangs of Pakistani Muslim men kidnapping, raping, and pimping out young white girls in case it inflamed ‘racial’ (What ‘race’ is Islam?) tensions ahead of a General Election, it was revealed today. Police and social workers in the South Yorkshire town were accused of being too concerned about being labeled ‘racist’ to speak out about the crimes involving 1,400 young white Christian children.
UK Daily Mail: Yesterday, it emerged that the massive inquiry into the Rotherham sex abuse scandal could run until at least 2018 and has so far identified 300 suspects. Investigators say the number of possible offenders is changing on a ‘daily basis’ and they suspect ‘thousands of offences’ have been committed.
West Midlands Police were warned more than 100 predominantly white children – some as young as 13 – were at serious risk of child exploitation five years ago. A document entitled ‘Problem Profile, Operation Protection’ from March 2010 reveals Asian MUSLIM gangs targeted schools and children’s homes across the force area.
The report, written for senior officers, also reveals how white girls were used to recruit other vulnerable victims on behalf of the gangs. But there were fears over a row ahead of the May 2010 General Election and an English Defence League rally in April leading to a ‘backlash against law abiding citizens from Asian/Pakistani communities’.
Despite the warnings, police did not warn the public or appeal for information about the men responsible and the report was only published this week under the Freedom of Information Act.
The UK has odd laws on self defense.
Lethal self defense is pretty much forbidden. No guns, no knives, etc.
Using to force to protect property is also forbidden.
Folks trying to defend themselves must use “reasonable” force in self defense - subject to review by courts and judges who were not there. “Disproportionate” force will get you a jail sentence.
As as I can tell, if you win, you’re probably wrong.

If the police knew, and did nothing, aren't they open to charges themselves? Are they able to selectively enforce the law?

The statistics for inner city blacks is even more sobering. The average IQ of an inner city black is 76. Very few will have an IQ even close to 115.
It exists, and is a serious problem, but not the state threatening some here think it is. I get called a denier simply for trying to give a balanced idea of how bad it is.

As a Brit, and someone who in 2008 had to use that self defence right and law, what I read about UK self defence on FR is bunkum. And whats worse, I and others UK freepers keep on correcting people with the facts, yet we keep on reading the same guff time after time.

I am a Brit, and in 2008 used said laws to defend myself, family and home. So I know firsthand that your post is frankly rubbish.
ONE. Tony Martin. Wrongly imo but was a more complex case than people know.
The facts are:
that UK self defence of the person and of property is andalways has been legal, and the law has in fact been strengthened in favour of the defender twice since 2007, even by Labour. As I said, due to Sept 2008, I KNOW this from firsthand exp, although I already knew the rights and the facts/myths, and said so on here pre-2008.
Sorry, but what Little Ray posted was simply not true: all the supposed bans and limits. In 2012, a Manchester man legally stabbed a burglar to death, no charges.
Where the UK and US are different perhaps is that US defence is more brutal and quick, as its by the gun, most UK self defence will be by fists or by knives, swords. That means the UK has a different latitude to acceptable limits of self defence.
BUT the notion we cannot defend ourselves and have all these bans and limits is simply not true. 99% of what I read from FR and the US on UK self defence is quite simply a load of crap, and that’s being polite.
I think both regimes (US vs. UK) have the same general principle of no more force than necessary, and some regimes in the US impose a duty to retreat, even in your own home, so we aren't much better. Depending on the judge and other pinheads, there are many bad cases here too.
Not a question of law, but of quickness, a sword can be as quick as a gun, depending on where the strike hits.
