And if you notice, about four or five of them DOMINATE the tail-ends of threads, posting in a frequency that is probably four or five times more than individuals (the vast majority, about two to one) who are skeptical at least of LEO in this. So for every ONE post from skeptics, the minority trolls/plants respond with SIX or SEVEN posts.

Yep. Professional thread killing. It really is. 90% of it is pure ad hominem which brings the intended response. I take their sad bait way more than I should. I continue to resolve to try to do better with that.
