I call it “ISIS” because
1)It’s the first thing our media called it, can’t go changing names on me
2)It sounds all cool and evil
“ISIL” is stupid, no one uses the term “The Levant”. Some definitions of “The Levant” include Iraq, which would also make it redundant.
All 3 names have “Islamic State” in them so Cameron isn’t really achieving his objective by calling them ISIL. “ISIL” is an acronym, Dave.
Plain old “Islamic State” is (the literal translation of) what they call themselves, yes? Can’t really fault the media for calling them what they call themselves, eh Dave?
And whether anyone likes to admit it or not, they are behaving exactly like the original Muslims under Mohammed.
