From: Gary L. Bauer

I read through a lot of angry messages about the Supreme Court in my email this morning. I'm not surprised. Unfortunately, we're stuck with Obamacare for now.

Simply put, elections have consequences. And right now we're suffering through the negative consequences of elections that took place almost ten years ago when Democrats took control of Congress.

But here's the good news: A Republican president and a Republican Congress CAN REPEAL OBAMACARE IN 2017!

And we can also CHANGE THE COURT!

The men and women we elect to the White House and the Senate nominate and confirm the judges who serve on our courts, including the Supreme Court.

Four justices of the Supreme Court are 76 years-old or older.

The odds are overwhelming that the next president we elect will fundamentally change the ideological balance of the Supreme Court.

This issue alone would be worth every effort you can possibly make and every dime you could possibly invest between now and next November to ensure that we take back the White House and hold the Senate!

I still prefer my old standby plan of having voters elect the justices, making each circuit a judicial election district composed of several states that would have the justice on the ballot during the November elections, and gerrymandering the hell out of it so we end up with only 3 safe RAT seats and 6-8 strongly GOP leaning seats (depending on whether there are 9 or 11 justices). Shouldn't be hard if you carve up the 9th circuit so it only covers the coastal states.

Granted, the chances of doing all this would take a constitutional amendment and its a long shot, but its a populist proposal and could gain widespread support since its empowering voters, unlike the "abolish the 17th" idiocy. In fact, it would be sort of a '17th amendment for courts" proposal.

There is no telling what would have happened to Bork had he been confirmed. He may have lived to be 100 having not had the great disappointment of being abused by Ted Kennedy in the Senate hearings. He could have also been hit by a bus going to work at the SCOTUS at some point after he was seated.

The point is that had Bork been on the court for any period of time, the court would be much different simply by having him on the bench.Particularly since he would have sided with the minority in the Lawrence VS Texas ruling which opened the doors to Homosexual marriage. Kennedy swung for the sodomites on that one for the majority opinion as well. A 5/4 decision.

This nonsense has opened a huge can of worms that will take years if not decades to work its’ way out. All for the benefit of a minority so small as to be insignificant in any meaningful way. At least outside of a rest stop bathroom.

I think I’ve got it right.

Cheerleading for the GOP and putting down the “Libs” and “Demonrats” like we’re sitting in a sports bar cheering on our favorite team and dissing the other team isn’t reality.

Its sort of like Mister Rogers and his “Land of Make Believe”. It works for a child, but not an adult.

MLK was good in that he took JFK by the nose and kicked his a** at Birmingham in 1963 with over the top nonviolent protest led by young people.

After the six and seven year olds marching into the police lines took Bull Connor’s forces off guard, other protestors were able to use the shock to get around police lines and into downtown. The next day the teenagers came out and Bull was so enraged by the events the day before he brought out the dogs and water cannon, creating scenes that changed history.

JFK had to do a couple things after that. Kennedy had to stop his symbolic speechmaking and pretend concern (just like Republicans have for ‘family values’ or ‘traditional marriage’) for civil rights-racial equality and actually support some real and meaningful legislation.

The Kennedy Administration-Democrat Party was afraid of MLK upsetting the apple cart of Kennedy’s winning coalition of blacks, white liberals and southern segregationists. This is just like the GOP operates its coalition suckering religious people while taking the corporate support totally hostile to the religious voters agenda.

The Kennedy’s got the FBI spying on MLK leading to audio tapes of his sexual activities, a copy of one encounter being sent out after LBJ became president to MLK in early 1964. Interesting that in mid 1964 MLK suspended protest activity for the general election season.

That’s a little snippet of the reality of how our two big parties operate and how empty Gary Bauer’s words are in the ‘pants down’ world of hardcore politics as usual in Washington.

Our political system is run by corporate elites giving us things like Amnesty, Obamacare, Common Core, Trade Deals and even Gay Marriage with no First Amendment protection allowed for religious objectors. The elites fund two poitical parties with D’s faking a Leftward position and R’s faking a Rightward position with emotional symbolic proposals and speeches.

RESISTANCE OF A NONVIOLENT MLK STYLE COULD WORK ALTHOUGH THE HISTORY OF THE 1960’S IS THAT IT DESCENDED INTO VIOLENCE IN SPITE OF DR. KING’S EXAMPLE. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO IMPROVE ON HIS EXAMPLE AND GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME AROUND AND THAT IS A TALL ORDER.

“The reason the US is now in this very steep decline is that elections no longer have consequences.”

Elections do have consequences. But you have to start with the primaries. You have to start before the voting counts. It is imperative that we now have to get Those who appoint judges on our side.

Nothing in the Constitution authorizes the right of judicial review. The SCOTUS, constantly redefining the Constitution and the very language used to articulate it, are a tribune of unconstitutional usurpers.

Abolish the unaccountable SCOTUS!

States can dig in and tell the Feds and SCOTUS that they will make use of their 10th Amendment rights no matter what some kangaroo court cats paw of Leftist tool decides. It’s the only real option left.

No, I don't think we should give it up.

But...Republicans lie. They campaign on a conservative platform and then vote socialist and fail to pursue a conservative agenda.

Well, we’ve been dealing with judicial review since Marbury V. Madison.

None of the nine can be abolished but more can be added with congressional approval and presidential signature. Will never happen now, but it may be well essential to save the country, which is not a high priority with most Americans.
