A Freeper pointed out yesterday that there's actually a pretty common scam being carried out in the U.S. military these days. Because enlisted soldiers get paid more than single ones, a lot of these guys go out and "get married" to someone who they have no interest in being married to, and in some cases they have never even met. It's gotten to the point where they'll even take out ads on Facebook, Craigslist, etc., offering $200/month to anyone who wants to be "married" to the soldier for the duration of his enlistment.
The most amusing part of the story is that this is apparently all being done openly, without any fear of legal repercussions.
