(CNSNews.com) - In his dissent from the Supreme Courts 5-4 decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which declared that same-sex marriage is a right, Justice Samuel Alito said the court had falsely likened opposition to same-sex marriage to racism and that its decision will be used to vilify Americans unwilling to assent to the new orthodoxy.
Alito warned that in the wake of the courts ruling, Americans who dare to publicly express views in favor the traditional understanding that marriage is between a man and a woman will risk recrimination.
I assume that those who cling to old beliefs will be able to whisper their thoughts in the recesses of their homes, but if they repeat those views in public, they will risk being labeled as bigots and treated as such by governments, employers, and schools, Alito wrote.
By imposing its own views on the entire country, he said, the majority facilitates the marginalization of the many Americans who have traditional ideas.
Here is a key excerpt from Alitos dissent:

Live and let live. Too bad we can’t type with our mind.

Have you ever read Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut? A movie was made with Sean Austin in it. It’s might resonate better with a teenager.
It about a govt that handicaps everybody so no one is smarter, better looking, stronger, etc. Everybody is “equal.”
<>The Tree of Liberty needs to be watered.<>
No, our corrupted institutions need to be restored to the constitutional purposes.
Is there a written law against being a bigot?
Get ready to “lock and load.”
Memo to LGBQT (or whatever):
I AM A BIGOT. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
There, the gauntlet has been tossed.
What, pray tell, does “Pfl” mean?
Its already happening. At least if you are a baker, florist or photographer.
That’s why I just stayed silent on Facebook. I have long time friends that would block me if I spoke up against this issue. They don’t understand... you are right... They do chip away... eventually mentioning God and bible makes people roll their eyes at you
:(
The court has effectively bestowed “gay” as a protected class. Affirmative Action for the homos will follow, guaranteed.
A 5th grade teacher can wear a mustache and a dress while he tells the students all about his “honeymoon”, and there will not be a dang thing that anyone can do or say to stop him.
Ping for later.
God bless FRiend

Thanks.
Alito just might be my favorite SCOTUS justice. If not, he’s certainly one of my top three. :)
