Governor Greg Abbott today released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage ruling:
“The Supreme Court has abandoned its role as an impartial judicial arbiter and has become an unelected nine-member legislature. Five Justices on the Supreme Court have imposed on the entire country their personal views on an issue that the Constitution and the Court’s previous decisions reserve to the people of the States.
“Despite the Supreme Court’s rulings, Texans’ fundamental right to religious liberty remains protected. No Texan is required by the Supreme Court’s decision to act contrary to his or her religious beliefs regarding marriage.
“The Texas Constitution guarantees that ‘[n]o human authority ought, in any case whatsoever, to control or interfere with the rights of conscience in matters of religion.’ The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion; and the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act, combined with the newly enacted Pastor Protection Act, provide robust legal protections to Texans whose faith commands them to adhere to the traditional understanding of marriage.
“As I have done in the past, I will continue to defend the religious liberties of all Texans—including those whose conscience dictates that marriage is only the union of one man and one woman. Later today, I will be issuing a directive to state agencies instructing them to prioritize the protection of Texans’ religious liberties.”
If a Dem is elected President, I hope Texas secedes, followed by the rest of the South. Then I’m moving down there.

Knowing Travis County they will probably make it a felony calling for a public execution if you refuse to issue the license because their mayor is gay. Really gay.
The man in the wheelchair stands taller than any other governor in the nation. We Texans are blest to have you leading our state, Gov. Abbott.

This ruling is pure legislation. It should be resisted by every means necessary.

I live in Texas, and unfortunately it’s not that much better. People are still silenced concerning this matter.

The National Republican Party will not have Governor Abbott’s back on this.
That remains to be seen. To talk the talk is one thing, but will anything be done about it?
This makes me feel better, unfortunately Jay Inslee is my governor.
I’ve been posting about that for years.
But look at the ruling and look at Abbot’s press release, then you should see there won’t be IN TEXAS any flower shops, bakeries, churches and so on that are shut down.
What I was saying was if Texas were to follow Alabama and get out of the business of issuing marriage licenses, then there would be nothing for the homosexuals to attack.
As for insurance and estate purposes, homosexual couples who claim they are ‘married’ won’t be able to show a state marriage license, they will have to use affidavits, tax returns etc.
If Texas can get itself away from state marriage licenses and protect churches and businesses, then they set an example for other states to follow.
38 states have either passed bans on same-sex marriage, voted down same-sex marriage proposals or amended their state constitutions to define marriage as between one man and one woman.
If Texas shows the way forward, then this SCOTUS ruling is a hollow victory. There will be nothing for homosexuals to attack save for workplace discrimination which is small and inconsequential.
Homosexual leaders are targeting churches and Christianity. They seek to ‘reform’ Christianity by forcing churches to acknowledge that homosexuality is normal, that’s it not a sin, Abbot appears to have shut down their opportunity in Texas to do that.
I expect homosexual law firms to drag Texas into court but they have to look at the words of the SCOTUS ruling which says to the effect that nothing in the ruling can be construed to change the doctrine of the Church.
So if traditional conservatives play it smart, this whole affair can be a big nothing although today’s ruling is emotional and a stain on our nation’s history.
I was one of the early ones to point out more than 5 years ago that the agenda of the homosexual movement was to topple the principles of the Church. And now it is obvious to everyone.
What I am saying now to people is don’t fall into despair, there are ways out of this darkness.

I predict the Article V movement which has been growing very quick will now grow even quicker as more and more people learn about.
Ugh! The national Republican party is worthless. They aren't good for anything anymore. They live in a DC bubble. I don't even think they're human!
What we need is a Moses. I believe if the RNC were to get out of the way and let us choose our own candidate, we'd win in a landslide. The silent majority has been screaming, but the "people" in DC are pretending to be deaf (too busy enjoying their own power, luxury, and wealth to be concerned about ....ugh....the unwashed masses they vowed to "serve").
Do not worry much about Jade Helm. The timing is coincidental, very coincidental, but have talked to swat and ex military here in Texas, right now it is not nefarious in nature. But that does not mean its nature could not change in the future.
