Who in hell leaves a firearm in a remote cabin?..............

I know lots of people who do. At least since the black bear population has exploded in Pennsylvania. Can't afford to be unarmed, just in case.

Apparently it's not all that uncommon up in the Adirondacks. People have shared hunting cabins, and some/all of the people who use the cabin will leave firearms there.

The issue in this case is that, according to what I've read at least, this particular cabin was shared and used by so many different people, that no one could accurately say how many firearms (and what types) were in the cabin at the time (and thus what was missing), so no one knew exactly what weapons these guys had taken.

To leave a cheap 12 gauge tucked away is not a big deal. It is a remote cabin, maybe somebody will need a gun.
