What’s left for them to do? Most churches and denominations where I live have already embraced evils of perverted marriage.

Well I’ll never accept this joke of a ruling and if some fag opens his mouth to me I’ll put my fist in it. I’ll tell him when a man can start having children then he can “get married”. I will also tell his anus is for the extraction of feces from his body and nothing else.

Simple response.

Go to the Court House to get a license.

Go to your church and have a Consecration Service.

You are right, Campion. They will go after the Catholic Church first. It is the Citadel and the Head and the symbolism is great. If they want to crush Christianity, they will go for the jugular.

Of course, all Christians realize that the outcome will be failure in the end, as Jesus promised us He will prevail. But that does not mean we will not suffer under totalitarianism, and martyrdom, if required. Jesus told us to take up our crosses and follow Him.

I hope now some of the anti-Catholic folks here will reevaluate their hatred for us. I certainly can never express animosity toward anyone who is part of the Body of Christ. We are in for the battle of the ages.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, Have mercy on us and on the whole world.

No, that only opens up another legal front. The only solution is to cede authority given by the state to perform a civil function if one is unwilling to follow civil law.

“The only way that churches will escape any attacks will be to quit the “tax-exempt” status and the churches will be free to preach against the horrible sin of “same-sex marriage.”

No, they won’t. Tax exempt status will not allow them to engage in “hate speech” against a protected minority.

The ruling does say this:

Finally, it must be emphasized that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine precepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned. The First Amendment ensures that religious organizations and persons are given proper protection as they seek to teach the principles that are so fulfilling and so central to their lives and faiths, and to their own deep aspirations to continue the family structure they have long revered. The same is true of those who oppose same-sex marriage for other reasons.

It appears that there is wriggle room for Churches, at least legally, for now.

My church has already anticipated this and is changing the by laws. We have added that no one but a member of the church can be married or rent the church or have any dealings with the church and to be a member you have to be saved and be bearing fruit. Nothing we do will be against the Word of God. We used to rent the church out to defray costs and perform weddings for anyone that asked. That's over. The by laws say that we must put changes before the body for a period of time( I forget how long) but we will be voting next month. If you do away with your 501c3, you will be in the same boat as a BAKERY! This is where Obama comes in.

I hear he has already been working on executive action to force churches into the Gospel according to Obama. What I predict is he will force churches to lose their 501c3 status if they don't play ball, then attack them as a business with no 1st Amendment protections.

In other words, The fuse is lit and it's just a matter of time. Do yourself a favor and read Leviticus 18:22 to the end of the chapter to see what is about to happen. This country is up for grabs to mexico, ISIS, $18 trillion in debt, or just a random act of nature, but the land is no longer ours. We are about to be repossessed.

The grinning queer in the White House will surely address the nation and say how FABULOUS the ruling is. Never forget elections have conseqences and every bit of this crazy ass, abnormal, God-hating garbage is because of Larry Sinclair’s butt-buddy.

Individual preachers *could* just perform proper weddings in private homes, or other places, other than in the “church house”. Scripture is clear on this subject, Old Testament & New Testament. It would seem that the INDIVIDUAL beliefs in this matter, as in other matters, would have to be allowed. (The INDIVIDUAL beliefs of the preacher, just as much as for the “same sex” couples. I’m sure they can find a liberal preacher to “marry” them.)

I wonder if the end result of this ruling will be similar to what happened in Europe as a result of the French Revolution and Napoleon. Only the state will have the power to marry; all marriages will be civil unions. If Christian couples desire a religious ceremony, it can be performed after the civil. However, the pastors/ministers/priests will have no legal authority to marry. Date of the marriage will be the civil ceremony. Couples can only marry when governmental offices are open.

They are supposed to march themselves down to the courthouse, and instead of just one person showing up they both do and go the additional step that many people already do of standing before the justice of the peace. This does not have to be a big deal, it’s just that churches are used to being tied up in civil authority. They need to get unused to it quick because if they make a wrong move they will be sued up the yingyang for denying people their civil rights.

Does a church have to marry someone who is not a member? Does a church have to marry someone who has not accepted Jesus as his/her Savior?
