Here is the thing: these Tech companies are absolutely not going to hire people who can’t innovate. To embrace diversity at the expense of innovation would quickly result in their demise.

What might happen, is that they will hire a certain number of people with loud titles who have essentially nothing to do with their core business. These people will travel around as mascots .... or spend their daze looking out the window of their plush offices.

I agree again.
And it is sheer stupidity for a government (and outside agitators) to attempt to force companies to hire anyone but the most qualified and skilled. It is a recipe for extinction. People are different. 'Celebrate' this diversity. NBA teams are not going to be forced to field teams with at least half of their players being white and less than six feet. Companies should not be forced to hire engineers, scientists, and programmers that are not the best in their fields.
