The logic of the Supreme Court ruling upholding the latest challenge to Obamacare is simple: Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not destroy them, writes Chief Justice John Roberts in his 6-3 majority decision in the case of King v. Burwell. If at all possible, we must interpret the Act in a way that is consistent with the former, and avoids the latter.
This is obviously true and patently ridiculous.
Its true because of course the goal was to improve markets. Its absurd because government policies often have the opposite effect of what is intended and the moral and legal onus in such situations falls on those who advanced the policies in the first place, not those who attempt to undo them.

Like Mark Levin said last night. A correct ruling has to involve reading comprehension.
Road Apple Sauce.
If that is his logic, then he should be saying something like Congress passed the Second Amendment to affirm gun rights, not destroy them
Personally, I think he is being blackmailed by Obama & the NSA just like Boehner!
Great quote from the article. Even more simply, the author is labeling Roberts as the Chief Liar of the United States, although there is certainly major competition for that title.
It’s the logic of go along to get along, Roberts is a coward.
And Roberts is probably off to Malta now.
Maybe this will dispel any notion that any Bush is a conservative, including W. He appointed this nutcase.
Sorry, the premise is dead wrong. There are two unstated goals in the law: redistribution and paving the way for single payer, which compliments the leftist goal of government control of healthcare.
Improvement of insurance markets is not the goal.
ObamugabeCare was written and passed to show the governments good intentions.
Roberts decides that those good intentions are more important than actual results.
To paraphrase South Park:
Step 1 - The idea: Reform HealthCare
Step 2 - Pass Legislation
Step 3 - Something
Step 4 - Utopia!
It’s called adopting two children from Ireland! This is against Irish law and treaty’s and also international law. If you are in government everything you do is in a file by the FBI-CIA-NSA-DHS to be used to control you. Your sins will find you out and you will pay.
Two predictions:
1) Justice Scalia is going to retire. If he is going to continue to end up in the minority on rulings as absurd as this, he likely feels there is no point to hanging around for any more rides in the clown car. He may wait until after the next election though.
2) If the Obama Administration really has Roberts by the shorthairs as it appears, look for the Court to quickly begin backtracking from the Citizens United decision. That is A#1 on the Liberal hit list.
And the lies continue...
Agreed on the blackmail. They have him— for either or both of things that would destroy him personally— the backchannel adoption in South America, and/or his documented homosexual past (which, when one thinks about it— to the liberal mind should be no big deal- what with Mack Daddy Long Legs maomau in chief).
The first 10 amendment, collectively called now the Bill of Rights were ratified by Congress. The 27th Amendment was NOT ratified, but after some 202 plus years became ratified in 1992. Worth a read about that process constitutional.
It is indeed shocking to think that the Bill of Rights could have been allowed to accrue in the same way as the 27th Amendment (ie through the non-ratification by the States), and the Rights of Free Speech, to Keep and Bear Arms, etc. been allowed to “accrue” to ratification. God Bless our Congress of 1791 for what freedoms (on paper at least) we have as Constitutional (ie. NOT removable by an all powerful federal state).
I know what they have on Roberts.....illegally adopting his two children from Ireland, but I don’t know what they have on Boehner and McConnell.
the question that has to be asked, if the words and meaning were altered to what Roberts says that it must say/intend, would the same legislators have voted for it, or would they have demanded amendments. He cannot know that with certainty.
Sorry, but Obamacare WAS designed to destroy the insurance market because it’s the first step to single payer. Who would need an insurance company then?......NO ONE!
Plausible, but Mr. Roberts should be impeached.
“Twisted” logic? More like no logic.
There is no logic in the decision at all.
There is only corruption.
