Lawmakers on Wednesday demanded tougher regulations to prevent a repeat of the wild machete attack in Bryant Park.

...as opposed to calm and orderly machete attacks.

“It is disturbing,” said state Sen. Tony Avella, a day after a foreign tourist was slashed with an easy-to-get and hard-to-ban machete. “They are deadly weapons,” he said.

Hard - but not impossible to ban. I propose a three-day waiting period and background check before the machete permit is issued.

Oh, and no assault machetes!

Weedwacking is not a right!

I'm sure that the Liberals are disappointed that the foreign tourist wasn't a member of some protected minority - then they really could have had a field day!

Also: If the attacker had screamed, say, "Long live Mickey Mouse!", then community organizers and activists could decry Mickey Mouse hats as "offensive symbols of hatred" and demand that they be banned, too!

Regards,

No,no,no! Not that type of wild. Only domestic machetes attacks should be allowed. These attacks may even be the result of an invasive species of machete!
