So, all the State exchanges should close immediately. There is no reason a state should carry the expense of them.

Scalia has a way with words. However, his appeal to "honest jurisprudence" is misplaced. All this case does is create additional precedents, even though there are already enough precedents to allow any outcome, in any case, to be selected and justified by a court.

All jurisprudence is outcome oriented. The law and constitution haven't had any meaning other than that voiced by appellate courts and bureaucracies, for the last 100 years.

When Obamacare implodes (during the next recession?) it won’t be possible to blame the Republicans or the SCOTUS. They can re-write the Obamacare rules, but they can’t re-write the rules of arithmetic.

I want to see them brought down in a very public, VERY humiliating way.

I'd rather seem them brought "up," by a rope.

It was just one battle lost.

I am very confident that it will happen and give it time, it will. Folks have armed up, the sales of guns have increased the last couple of years no doubt.

From Scalia’s dissenting opinion...

The Court’s decision reflects the philosophy that judges should endure whatever interpretive distortions it takes in order to correct a supposed flaw in the statutory machinery. That philosophy ignores the American people’s decision to give Congress “[a]ll legislative Powers” enumerated in the Constitution. Art. I, §1. They made Congress, not this Court, responsible for both making laws and mending them. This Court holds only the judicial power—the power to pronounce the law as Congress has enacted it. We lack the prerogative to repair laws that do not work out in practice, just as the people lack the ability to throw us out of office if they dislike the solutions we concoct. We must always remember, therefore, that “[o]ur task is to apply the text, not to improve upon it.”

Civil War will be the only answer to cancerous socialism.

I will be astonished if there's even a hint of Civil War in the United States in my lifetime.

It won't work that way,

The cop will stop you for NOT exceeding the speed limit and will ticket you because he is sure that the legislature intended to post a lower limit.

I'll bet the gay marriage thingie will come out tomorrow (not Monday) so that the Supremes can skeddadle out of town (or country) post haste over the weekend....like John Roberts high-tailed it to bask on the sunny shores of Spain after his first treachery.

After I scraped myself off the ceiling, I started to think.
Obamacare(aka Scotuscare, which sounds like Scotus Scare when you say it) is supposed to get worse in time, including the dreaded employer mandate and other demands that will kick in when it is fully implemented.
Who do we know that has promised to get rid of it? Promised from the day of his announcement that he would repeal it?
Ted Cruz.
In order to keep my sanity, I hope and pray that repeal of this monster is the battle cry next year.

It will start right after all government checks cease to be issued. Unless you are in your 80s or you drop dead from an unknown cause, it will happen in your life.

AND we might as well get rid of Congress. If the 9 Geniuses on the SCOTUS are going to start “writing” our laws, why bother ever voting for Representatives or Senators? Let halfwit morons write WHATEVER they want in to law. It doesn’t have to even make sense. The omniscient SCOTUS will interpret and rewrite as they see fit.

We are now ruled by the Nazgul(LOTR).

Someone needs to look into Robert’s background and see what the left has on him. There must be some skeleton that he wants to stay buried deep.

He's being blackmailed for smuggling his kids into the US.

did it not require that 4 of them agree to hear the case?
If so, someone changed their mind.

It isn’t going to be a good day.

I am not so sure, from a purely political point this is good.

The GOP had really put themselves in a pickle on this. If the ruling had gone in their favor they would have been blamed for every negative consequence that unfolded. You know they were going pass legislation so the subsidies would continue.

Now they can sit back and watch the train wreck continue to unfold as premiums, costs, fines/taxes skyrocket.

They can now say, sorry voters we tried to stop this at every level. If you want this fixed you know how to vote in 2016.
