For what good purpose do we invent a new term? Holy matrimony is the perfectly succinct term for faith based marriages (the sacrament). Civil unions are reserved for those that don’t care to have their wedding be a sacrament (ordained by Caesar vs. by God).
It is no longer the Supreme Court. It is the EXTREME Court!

So for 20 years of Republican Presidents, each has only managed to appoint one superior judge. And of course all of the ones put in by democraps have been jokes. Doesn’t give you a warm feeling will with ever have a Supreme Court without its head clearly inserted into its neither regions, does it?
I am saying the language used currently already does that (that there is no need to change anything).
Holy Matrimony = those marriages that are performed by the church, sanctified by it and are the actual sacrament.
Civil unions = marriage certificate issued by the state where the state recognizes the marriage for tax and other legal purposes.
Some churches are starting to practice not signing marriage certificates (not performing the role as witness) and forcing couples to get that done by a JP if they want their marriage recognized by the state/fed gov. This causes homosexual marriage (civil union) seekers to go elsewhere to get what they immediately want, which is state and federal sanctioning of their marriage.
Everyone with a few brain cells to rub together will, in retrospect, see that the push is broader than just state acceptance (indoctrination and forced acceptance of the lifestyle), but at least the church isn’t forced to go against doctrine.

There are currently 9 vacancies on the United States Courts of Appeals, 45 vacancies on the United States district courts, 4 vacancies on the United States Court of International Trade and 22 announced federal judicial vacancies that will occur before the end of Obama’s second term. Obama has not made any recess appointments to the federal courts.
213 Obama judges were confirmed without a challenge, 180 to the District Courts and 31 to various U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals.
That includes Obama federal judges who were confirmed either unanimously or by unanimous consent and also Obama federal judges who were confirmed on a voice vote.
I mean that just because time has gone by doesn’t mean something CAN’T be repealed. The current crop, as I’ve posted many times on threads here today, WANTS this USSC decision as cover so they can pretend they are “trying to repeal it” but where they are just campaigning on that phrase.

I completely understand that. That’s not what is at issue. What is at issue is that the GOPe can now “campaign” against Obamacare (”we’ll repeal and replace,” which is the stupid phrase) and make base voters think they’re serious, while it’s clear to their donors they aren’t doing any such thing. They get the best of both worlds.
I don’t get this. Marriage, i.e. the covenant between a man and woman in the religious sense is vastly different from the “marriage” license issued by caesar and the center of the controversy.
Caesar can put whatever restrictions he does or doesn’t want on his license. He can sell it to whomever he wants. It doesn’t change what marriage means in the religious sense.
Unfortunately churches have been unwittingly complicit here: they agree to execute the license issued by caesar and end up following his warped interpretation of what it means. So why do churches continue to be the unpaid executor of these licenses?
There is a solution to this for the churches: stop executing the “marriage” licenses. The religious marriage ceremony itself doesn’t require it. Churches can and have married people without a license. For thousands of years. Its perfectly legal, and although it won’t be an official state approved “marriage,” are the churches really that interested in keeping family law courts and attorneys in business by executing caesars “marriage” licenses?
To summarize, if you volunteer to be caesar’s agent, you’ll be expected to follow caesar’s rules.

You mean quit buying Treasuries? Well, our rates would have to go up considerably to attract other buyers. And we couldn’t afford to pay higher rates.
When we can’t buy China’s products US investors there will have to sell their assets for pennies to the Chinese State.
China won’t even have to nationalize, it’ll just be ‘bad luck’.
