Sununu warns: Don't let Trump debate, will turn into 'reality show'

A former New Hampshire governor and White House chief of staff are urging the GOP to keep billionaire businessman Donald Trump out of the presidential debates limited to just the top 10 most popular because it would turn the serious affairs into a "reality show."

John Sununu, who was former President George H.W. Bush's top aide, told PoliticKING host Larry King that the party would be making an error to let Trump participate and not long-time politicians such as Ohio Gov. John Kasich and South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham. [...]

Fox News has decided that its first debate, set for August, will limit the number of GOP candidates to 10-12 based on their polling.

“Bush stands to gain from his pseudocandidacy.”

Oh really? Please tell us all how you came to that conclusion!

I say put Trump in the White House. Unlike 0dungo Trump is white, so unlike 0dungo he will be held accountable for any bad moves he might make.

“And most of the candidates running (both GOP and Dimwits) are leftist clowns. “

Now isn’t that the truth!

"Any debate Trump is in will not focus on conservative issues, it will be a Kardashian-style circus."

So you would ban him from the debates? Even if he's polling #2 or #3?

There is a pre-defined criteria for access to the first debate. That definition cannot be changed to exclude a specific individual.

"So he suddenly wants the GOP to defeat them?"

I think he thinks he can win.

Republicans do not have to vote for him in the primaries. If he is not at least #2 by super-Tuesday, he'll drop out. Just like everyone else.

Currently an astounding 66% of GOP primary voters say that they don’t see any way that they would vote for him, nobody else even comes close.

He doesn’t think that he can win, he is up to something.

"he is up to something"

He will endeavor to change their minds.

I think his ego is that far out.

I think he thinks he can win it all.

His populist tune will carry him far.

I do not plan on voting for Trump, but I want him in the debates.

He will smash through the scripted PC nonsense and make them talk about issues that are important to many people.

He lacks the judgement and temperament to be President.

Well he is clearly a conman hustler, and since you support him, you want to pretend that he is serious, and just sincerely wants to win the presidency as a republican, and defeat his beloved Clintons.

Donald Trump—Announces Cabinet possibilities, willingness to spend $100 million
November 28, 1999

“”GOP presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain of Arizona “ might be a very interesting candidate” for secretary of defense, Trump said.

Trump said others he would consider as possible Cabinet members include Rep. Charles Rangel (D-New York) as secretary of housing and urban development and retired Gen. Colin Powell as secretary of state.

As for possible choices for treasury secretary or vice president, Trump mentioned General Electric head Jack Welch. “He’s ... probably the greatest corporate leader in the history of a major company,” Trump said. “Somebody like that would be absolutely incredible.”

Trump also mentioned talk show host Oprah Winfrey again as a possible running mate, even though Winfrey has said she is not interested.””

He will make a mockery of the debates, and distract from issues being discussed.

He will smash through the scripted PC nonsense

Let's see in the last 24 he said America's problems are because of the confederate flag and he is the biggest defender of "Latinos" in the country. He is really anti-PC.

The Donald’s ego is so big that he thinks he can win the whole enchilada. I know lots of Dems who said they would vote for him - don’t count him out. After what thi8s country has been through under this iron-fisted administration, and still is going through - I welcome his candor and
calling out both parties. Will he be entertaining? You betcha!!!

If I decide he’s for real I’ll probably vote for him. As it is right now there is no one I’m willing to waste gas on to drive to the polls.

I’m going to go purchase a few handguns tomorrow. That’s worth the gas.

Maybe your anti-Trump diatribes should be limited and/or otherwise restricted. What’s good for the goose, should be good for the gander. Lets limit your speech. You’ll love it.

“I think a better job for The Donald to run for is 1. The Mayor of NYC or 2. The Governor of NY State.”

The horse is out of the barn, lol. He’s running for President, in case you didn’t notice. No amount of wishful thinking is going to change that.
