Just one day after he told KENS 5 that he would continue to sell it, Dixie Flag Company owner Pete Van de Putte confirmed Tuesday that the store will no longer sell the Confederate Battle Flag.
He confirmed just after 6 p.m. that the decision was effective this afternoon.

The issue with the CAF was that airshow promoters and organizers were threatening to cancel them out of appearances unless they changed the name.
I think you have it entirely correct. He’ll start reselling the flags a little ways down the road. But for now this keeps him out of the crosshairs.
Dixie Flag (oh, the irony!) has a Facebook site. I gave them a piece of my mind, and others should too.
Then I guess they also need to change their name as “Dixie” is the name of the Confederate south.
I’ve been thinking about the flag issue and here’s how I see it.
This is the last gasp of what was left of the idea of the CSA.
As long as confederate flags were flying over state houses in the south the confederacy was still legit in the minds of many southerners. I don’t mean the confederate government was legit but the idea of it was still alive.
The CSA was still culturally viable and got a nod and a wink from elected officials all over the south.
This is the last shovel full of dirt thrown on the confederacy.
