The news media used a single act by a single individual to take away our freedom of speech. If people dont see now that the media is the enemy and the problem I dont know when they will

You’re exactly right! That is where it’s all going,

The issue with the CAF was that airshow promoters and organizers were threatening to cancel them out of appearances unless they changed the name.
To: Gaffer
I think you have it entirely correct. He’ll start reselling the flags a little ways down the road. But for now this keeps him out of the crosshairs.

Dixie Flag (oh, the irony!) has a Facebook site. I gave them a piece of my mind, and others should too.

Then I guess they also need to change their name as “Dixie” is the name of the Confederate south.

I’ve been thinking about the flag issue and here’s how I see it.
This is the last gasp of what was left of the idea of the CSA.
As long as confederate flags were flying over state houses in the south the confederacy was still legit in the minds of many southerners. I don’t mean the confederate government was legit but the idea of it was still alive.
The CSA was still culturally viable and got a nod and a wink from elected officials all over the south.
This is the last shovel full of dirt thrown on the confederacy.

Democrat Politician calls for banning Dixie Cups in 3...2....1....
To: tcrlaf
If we are going to ban the Confederate Flag as a symbol of slavery, then to be consistent, we have to ban the Stars and Stripes too.
It flew over slavery and slave transporting ships for much, much longer than any flag of the Confederacy. If the logic is that the flag flew over slave-owning lands, then the Stars and Stripes has to go, as well.
Heck, even the Ku Klux Klan flew the Stars and Stripes in their rallies...
If we go down that road, we will continue to be lopsided in our views, unaware of our own history.
So What's next? Are they going to take down the Flag of the United States too?
By capitulating because an evil nutjob like Dylann Roof slaughtered 9 innocent black Christians, aren't we providing incentive for the next nutjob to do something similar?

Shoot, now we will have to get our Stars and Bars from Communist China!

You mean the cross of the crusades? The spanish inquistion? The one that Christopher Columbus came to America under and wiped out all the Indians? Should have been banned a long time ago. /S
