Barely four months after contract signature, DCNS has handed over a Fremm frigate it originally built for the French Navy to Egypt. The ship will now be used to work up the crew, and is to be commissioned in late July. (DCNS photo)

At 27 knots, she must really put away the fuel...Which is likely not a problem for Egyptian oil fields.

“Tahya Misr” means “Long live Egypt.” It’s a song, sort of the Egyptian fight song.
