Sessions tells GOP to shoot down Obama's trade bill
The Washington Examiner ^ | 06/22/15 | Susan Ferrechio

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., called on GOP lawmakers to block a "Fast Track" trade bill on Tuesday that President Obama hopes to finalize in order to secure a string of new trade pacts.

Sessions, one of the Senate's staunchest opponents of the Trade Promotion Authority legislation, or TPA, said new trade deals threaten to cause further economic damage and job loss in the United States and could lead to a back-door deal with China later on.

Approval of TPA will give President Obama expedited power to secure new trade deals, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 11 Pacific Rim nations, or TPP. But Sessions said in his letter that Obama has not spelled out how the U.S. economy might change if the TPP were approved, and that Obama is looking to inject environmental issues into the agreement.

to secure a string of new trade pacts

TPP has almost nothing to do with trade and everything to do with Transnational corporate control and globalist progressives getting leverage on all of us.

The Far Left Extremist Congressman from my district crowed that he voted for TPA because of the environmental regulations he will be able to shove down our throats with it.

I am extremely disappointed that both my Texas Senators appear poised to vote for a secret bill.

Ted Cruz I donated to for President. Big mistake for me I see now.

‘TPP has almost nothing to do with trade and everything to do with Transnational corporate control and globalist progressives getting leverage on all of us.’

Yes, and these back stabbing fools will vote for something that they know little about. Another Obamacare-style legislative horror story that will shaft the taxpayer, citizen and consumer. To say nothing of more erosion of our rights......

Quick google. But then you knew that

Huff post

Conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh slammed President Barack Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal on Friday, telling listeners, “The odds are the United States is gonna take it in the shorts.”
Limbaugh argued Republicans shouldn’t do Obama any favors by helping him pass a secretive trade agenda that his own party does not support.

OK. I'm glad you said that, because I have been listening…but I get turned off at the Jenner stuff, and go positively pole-axed and cross-eyed with boredom when he starts talking about golf and football.

Trouble is, he won't talk about the betrayal of the Republican leadership--at least not the way he should.

Rush is always right. Just about. I’m as disappointed in how this is going as anyone. But what’s wrong with watching to see how it plays out

I don’t need an answer

There’s enough disagreement over details as it is

No one is against trade, or free trade, or fair trade.

Under Obama this is not about trade and we all know it.

Sessions has explained it until he is blue in the face. I buy what Sessions says because I trust him. He is beholden to no one, he’s not running for president, he’s not seeking power, certainly he proves that he isn’t going-along-to-get-along.
