Very few of these anti-Confedreate flag geniuses know much about the Confederacy period . Over 80% of the Confederate soldiers who fought in the Civil War were not fighting to preserve slavery in the south . They came from homes with no slaves and no interest in the slave issue . I think these anti-Confederate iceholes ought to go back and study the Civil War for the real and accurate facts regarding this majority of the southern fighting force against the unbalance of northern trade and taxes imposed on southerners during the 1860s . Lincoln used the slavery issue to get re-elected in his second term and he had a plan to re-colonize the blacks in South America using federal money to buy them back from the slave owners . Our American history today the way it’s taught is a real sham ,,,, and btw I am not a racist or a believer in any man owning another person regardless of race or religion just someone who knows history better than the anti-Confederate iceholes who protest the flag so vigorously . BTW there were several flags used by the Confederacy and the flag most are upset by was not called the Stars and Bars . That was an entirely different flag . The flag that has the blue X with stars in it was either the Confederate Jack a ships flag if it was rectangular and all battle flags were perfectly square in three different sizes depending on whether it was for the artillery , Cavalry or Infantry .
Absolutely right on. The flag in question is flying at a memorial to Confederate Soldiers, most of whom did not care about slavery. Many fought simply to defend their families and homes from an invading force that sought burn the South to the ground. That flag must be allowed to remain in place.
