I was talking about the church where this happened where it was against the law to CCW.
Where I live and go to church we don’t have metal detectors and CCW is allowed and practiced.
Churches do not ban the carry in most cases, it is the state that does. No one at any church I have been to in the south does anything to stop Concealed carry in or on the grounds of the Church. The State does not have door guards at churches, either.
The penalty for first offense , if it goes that far, is a misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket.
And metal detectors would not work anyway, for a gunman determined to simply enter the church and start shooting. They would hear the report right after the beep.
