I have a friend who is a prolife Catholic and a Democrat. The issue for her as she puts it is that the “good things Democrats do for the poor offset that bad things they stand for as a party.” Now of course, I don’t agree with this at all, but that is her explanation, horribly flawed though it is and it explains how these people continue to support Democrats. Also, people have quite the ability to minimize what they object to when they stand to benefit. Sad, but true.
Ya I know, but I would ask her if it offsets aprox 70 million murdered children, or whatabout giving her OK for everything from gay scout leaders, to Christ being dipped in a glass of urine, or child pornography being a art form. To the removal of crosses from veterans cemeteries, to gay man being allowed to adopt children...I could go on and on
