Things were going swimmingly, that is, until Donald Trump became mildly critical of Marco Rubio– at which point, Rubio loyalist Mark Levin suddenly [air quote] hit a hard break [air quote]…

But then Trump crossed the line by mildly criticizing Marco Rubio…
Trump: Rubio, weak on immigration– very weak on immigration, although he tried to come back. But, you know, uh, we know where he stands. He’s very, very weak. You know, he did the immigration thing, and then all of a sudden his poll numbers plummeted, and all of a sudden he became a little bit of a hawk on immigration–

But would Trump cut big government spending? Probably not, in my opinion.Whatever that's worth.
Trump hasn't had a chance at cutting gov't spending, Rubio has...The bigger question is (not opinion), did he?
BTW, Rubio IS weak on illegal immigration, Trump is right on. Shame on Levin.
levin sounds like a baby..this is politics.
Levin rails on about principles, and Rubio is the biggest violator of trust for the people who put him in the Senate...talk about a fraud lacking principle standing there with Chucky Schumer.

I definitely agree. Hyperactive Trolls are popping up all over Free Republic and other conservative sites stirring up conflict. Either they’ve received their orders or the mental institutions have had a mass release.

and I remember it exactly as you described. Levin barely got in his apology before the hard break occurred. Any listener to talk radio should be familiar with hard breaks.
Under the circumstances of Trump's schedule it made much sense to me that

I do not recall exactly but I think it was little more that ten minutes left in the hour when Trump called in. It was a short and rushed interview. Again nothing unusual.

Because he's young, relatively good looking (I wouldn't know .. I don't swing "that way"), and he gives a good speech. Unfortunately, he lied his way to the Senate and turned coat about 10 minutes after he got to D.C. I would also consider him a racist, since he is hispanic AND supports amnesty for illegal hispanics.

Yes Mark has this surreal loyalty to Rubio for some crazy reason.
But I also seem to remember that Levin has also been pretty OK with Trump so far.
