The Law and Order Republicans believe that they will never find the wrong side of government overreach. Unfortunately, once the authoritarians get a little whiff of power, then you cannot predict and certainly cannot control the outcome.

No doubt that some of the motorcycle clubs in Texas are criminals, involved in murder, extortions, drugs, etc. But many other of these clubs are just middle age guys living a little fantasy and having fun. Locking those guys with a boilerplate charge and a $1 million bail is not a travesty, its criminal. When the government becomes the criminals, we have a serious problem.

...we have a serious problem..

Have you seen the video on conservative tree house of Clendennan? It is really worth watching if you haven't seen it -- just scroll down the page to it. He describes an event that is mind boggling. These regular folks who ride bikes were really pushed to the limit. Most men I know would have gone ballistic and had to be hauled off and put in the rubber room, had they been subject to that.

Twice, Clendennen is rendered speechless, with grief or rage I can't tell. One jackboot licker here attributes it to his feeling such regret at "endangering his children" for deciding to play with the big boys -- you know the kind of "it serves him right" nanny ninny.

I attribute it to great self-control. All I know, is that I'd have probably gotten apoplectic halfway through the first night of having to continue to wear the ziptie handcuffs. I'd have lost it -- and as for being held captive literally for the next month, as some of them are? On a million dollars bail? Clendennen displayed amazing ability of keeping his cool.
