Trump could and should have a tune with lyrics written as a LOGO for his new candidacy..
He can afford it..deals with creative people.. it should not be hard..

“Isn’t he supposed to be coming out with a new high quality audio system?”

Yeah, and last I heard, it was completely panned! What can you expect from a burnt-out has-been who converts a Lincoln Continental to an electric car, and starts a fire in his warehouse. Ya know, I liked his work with Buffalo Springfield, but lost interest after that.

At 69, Neil is no longer Young. He is simply an old man who is stoned all the time, takes himself seriously, and therefore is unintentionally funny.

Assuming it is licensed by them that is correct (not everyone uses them). And the fee is based on #plays so not always “all you want”. I dead (and the source may have been wrong) that no fee was paid, so that’s the best info I have atm.

For those of you who are interested (I was), here is a link to the ASCAP guidelines. This wasn’t my area of expertise by any means (I was a Prosecutor). But it is apparent that it is much more complex than “get a license from ASCAP”. You may also need the artists and labels permission.

Anyway, just purely from a “oh isn’t that interesting” thing I post this link:

Neil young was and is still Canadian, and he is not authorized by me, a US citizen, to endorse any candidate for a US office.

Particularly not an old left-wingnut.

Won’t he have to pay Young for use of his song?

It wasn’t an advertisement. There was no money to pay beyond basic ASCAP/BMI.

How can Young deny him right to use when t-shirt printers cannot refuse to print “gay pride” propaganda?

Neil Young hasn't been in headlines in awhile. For a green energy guy, he was awfully silent about Iran building nuclear power plants.

(2011 in protest of Japan's nuclear energy)

(1979's protest of the US's nuclear power plants)

These commies send out cease and desist notices. It isn’t about revenue, they deny usage outright.

The convenience the teen set demanded for their cars.
