Well, I can't speak for everyone posting here, but I would suspect that most -- like me -- have no problem with the police showing a huge presence at this kind of meeting. Nor any problem with police arresting people during a riot. Nor with arresting people who are not guilty during a riot.

In fact, I would have no problem with police wading into this crew once the violence started, with truncheons swinging, no questions asked.

What I do have a problem with -- and what I suspect most people here have a problem with -- is a bunch of dead people who were apparently all killed by policemen.

Coalitions of Clubs have been holding meetings all around the country for the last 25+ years. This is the first time I am aware of that a “brawl” has broken out at one of them.

And they brought hundreds of weapons to a public place

This was Texas. Any place not otherwise posted is likely to have a few more weapons, concealed or not, than would leave you comfortable.

Yeah, that's three weapons right there. Perfectly legal and acceptable. But then you bring them to a large gathering of groups that are notorious for hating each other, violence, drugs, and whatever else.

You mean like bringing them into any bar in the west? I have, many, many times. Why would a political meet be any different?

It's just mind boggling to me that weekend riders would go to an event [...]

That's because you are ignorant - which is easy enough to overcome.

And guess what, when you are wearing the same jacket and patches that career criminals and convicted felons are wearing

There's a whole lot of folks in prison that have USMC tatts... Would you paint the USMC with this same broad brush?

And that’s all well and good. But all you need is for ONE of these meetings to go bad. You’re tempting fate by bringing such a large number of these guys together.

Yeah right... Wait till you hear the same thing said about militias, or NRA/R2KBA, or TEA Party folks... Oh, wait...

The issue here is that he was deprived of his constitutional rights. Didn't you take an oath of enlistment pledging to defend the U.S. constitution?

Thank you for the tutorial in Americanism 101. LOTS of folks around here need a LOT of remedial work.

Shocking, that.

Which of his rights were violated? Please don’t say the right to a speedy trial.

Of course, there is that little problem of the Cossacks having not been considered a terribly criminal motorcycle club until after this incident but hey, motorcycles are the instrument of satan.

2014 Gang threat assessment.

Manufacturing criminal history after the fact is okay when the BATF is involved right?

As to your last point, you aren’t understanding me. All of these guys were wearing patches at the same time and place. In that specific instance, then yes, you lock everyone up. That is very different than your reference to anyone on earth with a USMC tattoo. This was one instance and these men were all connected and were part of an active crime scene.

...AND we have a problem with the people who are not guilty, but who were swept up in the arrests, continuing to be held on $1,000,000 bond after 3-4 weeks.

There has been plenty of time for the police and prosecutors to separate the "weekend bikers" (as one person here put it) from the criminal element responsible for starting the fight.

[This assumes, of course, that the police are not the ones who started the fight. If that turns out to be the case, then the rest of the 170 arrested "bikers" should be released immediately and some police officers need to be arrested and have $1,000,000 bonds set for them.]

4 weeks +, and story concoction continues, the total $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for lawyers and “good ol’ boys” must still need to be calculated.

The number I heard is 9 or 12 or such fired by the police.

That is what the police said after they investigated themselves.

Go read the threads. Do not expect people to do your due diligence for you.

Keyword waco

Start on May 17 and go from there. Have you heard of internet search engines?

You’re tempting fate by bringing such a large number of these guys together.

Tempting fate?

Are you suggesting every one of those folks knew there was going violence? I've been to plenty of restaurants and bars full of bikers and never once saw a shoot out.

Millions of leftist said the same about those in Texas who gathered at the Muslim comic contest. We're they not tempting fate?

Should tempting fate as you referred to it, be made illegal?

Lots of not guilty people are arrested. It's part of the system.

I wonder if you would shrug it off so easily if it was YOU cooling YOU'RE heels in the can for better than two weeks on an unreasonable bond.
