No tenure. It doesn’t sound like she had the years in, the gained status within the department, or the background.

I would point this out also....if you go to Washington state in general....traveling around the state....one of the things you notice is that there isn’t much of a black population. Latinos make up roughly ten-percent of the state population and that’s probably double the black population. You might find a fair number of blacks around Seattle or Tacoma....but this relates to the military posts there and a fair number of black retirees who stayed in the local area. In eastern Washington where Dolezal lived....there just aren’t that many blacks, and I would question who would sign up for black cultural studies. If she was lucky....she might have had a dozen-odd students in each class.

The university figured things out and I would imagine she was told the contract-ending story months ago. Future hiring? Some friend will find her a community college setting and she’ll hang out doing the same thing there.
