According to her office, the lawmaker and strong advocate of same-sex marriage received the proper District certification to conduct the ceremony.
.... Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen will also join along with Miami Beach Commissioner Deede Weithorn, Miami Beach's first openly gay commissioner, Vice Mayor Michael Gongora and former Miami Beach Mayor Matti Herrera Bower, according to a statement.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor also extended her congratulations at the announcement of the upcoming wedding.

Could never understand how an obvious carpetbagger like Wasserman-Schultz can keep getting elected to a FL congressional district. Florida is a Southern state, after all. And yet, that obnoxious, downstate, “coffee-tawk” NY accent of hers could crack granite. Her district must be chock-full of old yentas and yentos (male yentas?) who decided to move from America’s armpit to God’s waiting room.
