Four Weeks Later: Waco Police Narrative Unravels
Breitbart Texas ^ | Lee Stranahan

Posted on 06/14/2015 4:18:39 PM PDT by House Atreides

"Four weeks after the deadly May 17th shooting incident outside a Waco Twin Peaks restaurant, more details have come out concerning the incident, but significant questions still remain about the actions taken by law enforcement and the police’s account of what transpired.

Although the national mainstream media has largely moved on from the Waco story, if critics of the police are correct, the incident represents an unprecedented civil rights violation and media cover-up campaign by the Waco authorities....

...In a statement on Friday, the police said that of 16 officers that were in the parking lot, only three fired a total of 12 shots. However, the statement still didn’t clarify how many of the bikers were killed by police. Authorities say they have not recieved final autopsy results that would clarify ballistics...."

I bet the payout, when it’s all said and done will far surpass what Houston had to pay when they arrested 275 for being in a Kmart parking lot.

Houston police arrested 273 people during an Aug. 17, 2002, sweep through a Kmart parking lot on Westheimer.

The sweep was part of a crackdown on illegal street racing, but Capt. Mark Aguirre ordered the arrest of everyone in the parking lot. Many of those arrested said they were store customers or passers-by.
Eight other lawsuits stemming from the Kmart raid already have been settled. Four others were dismissed. The total cost to the city for all the settlements is $840,117. Senior Assistant City Attorney Robert Cambrice estimated that an additional $60,000 was spent on outside lawyers who helped defend HPD and worked to expunge the arrest records of those caught up in the sweep.

“We came in at less than $1 million,” Cambrice said. “Some people said how many tens of millions this would cost the city. I would say justice was served, and the public purse was appropriately protected.”

Randall Kallinen was one of the attorneys in the suit that may be settled for $474,117.

“The Kmart raid represented one of the most egregious mass civil rights violations in Houston history,” Kallinen said Monday. “I believe it is a reasonable settlement under the circumstances, and all the clients will get some payment for the suffering they went through.”

“Any Freeper who read the Breitbart piece couldn’t miss it. How did you?”

In the article:

“The Grim Guardians motorcycle club is an offshoot from a group called Guardians of Children that Garcia, King, Harris and Crump all belonged to.”

It is NOT an offshoot of the GoC. It was formed by a group of dudes that could not live by the rules of the GoC.

Mad to Spurt: Ad hom attack. Is that all you got?

YUP. It's all they have -- either that, or the nice safe "Occam's Razor" argument.

“...When the Rangers, who were at Waco after the shootout to investigate, go along with the Waco police report, it is as close to jospel as we will find....”
*************************************************************************************************

Do you have a link to the investigative report where the Texas Rangers are “going along with the Waco police report”?

AND, for that matter...

Do you have a link to the Waco police investigative report?

Or do you just make things up as you go along?

The only credibility WPD has is the Texas Rangers. When the Rangers investigated the Twin Peaks shoot em up and stood by the police report, that is good a gold.
*****************************************************************************************************

Got a link to that sport...or are you just making things up?

“‘Grim Guardians’ is the name of the Christian MC club that is the subject of the article.”

Oh, so they CLAIM! This is the same bunch of dudes that could NOT abide by the club rules of a decent riding club and had to strike out on their own.
******************************************************************************************************
What specific rules could they not abide...and do you have a link to that information? Or are you just making things up on the fly?

The foot dragging continues.

It is just starting. They said it may takes months to get the ballistic results back.

What is it about Waco that makes Fedzilla want to commit some serious Nazi-era breaches of human rights?

I guess its a good thing that bar wasn’t burned to the ground with flamethrowers.

I am almost tempted to assume a “devil’s advocate” position to argue FOR a picture perfect op at Twin Peaks and perfect performance by the DA.

This batch trying to do it are a bad joke.

It’s getting boring.

The only people I know that got a DUI are dumbasses. The only people I ever knew that did 45 days were loser petty criminals, that had not yet been caught dealing drugs or theft or assault.

If it quacks like a duck..........
If the bike gangs didn’t want to have the public perception of criminals, pimps, drug dealers and violent thugs, they should not go around promoting that image. That goes doubly for all you poor pretend bike gang “colors” weekend rider wannabes. lay down with dogs, get up with fleas.

Wanting to be perceived as dangerous, intimidating, “do whatever we want” criminals is truly a mental disorder. You bike gang apologists need to try to help your demented friends get better instead of trying to help them get away with murder.

It is a sad day when some FR posters see whatever benefit in using the very liberal tactic of covering up for criminals by accusing the cops of massacring defenseless motorcycle “club” members (who were just trying to have a nice peaceful meeting to discuss motorcycle safety).

You are the one misusing the facts. It has been widely reported that only 1/3 of the people arrested had criminal records. There have been multiple reports of people arrested who claimed they did not belong to any club and were not wearing any club emblems. You are tarring 175 people with a very wide brush, and it just doesn't hold up.

It’ll assume you are asking a serious question, not just nipping with a squeak for a bark like the other bike gang wannabe Chihuahuas.

The Rangers do not generally speak up or issue public reports about the situations they investigate, unless they find it is not being properly handled by the locals. There have been times when they dumped on local LEO. When they do not it is an indication there is no problem.

“There were Christian MC clubs, American Legion Patriot Riders and other non criminal oriented bikers there that were arrested. No one has said a word about them.”

I have. I keep asking for their names or club names

You did read the article, right?

One example of how the police seem to have ignored the line between biker groups with known criminal connections, and non-criminal motorcyclists, involves four men from the Austin area who were part of a motorcycle club called the Grim Guardians: Juan Garcia, Drew King, Jim Harris and Bonar Crump.

Mr. Crump was indeed formerly with the GOC as stated on his LinkedIn in page. But if you notice, he noted he had left in January. In fact, Mr. Crump and the entire Chapter of GOC Austin chose not to follow Guardians of the Children protocols and their Charter was pulled in December 2014.

“You did read the article, right? “

Yes. See my past several posts. The Grim Guardians were kicked out of the Guardian of Children MC because they could not abide by the legitimate clubs protocols.
