Applause.
CORRECTION: The problem of an inadvertently or accidentally exposed (or "printed-thru") concealed weapon was resolved several years ago.
Since I prefer to hang my suit jacket or sport coat in the back of my vehicle when I drive, I'm technically at risk when I step to the rear of my vehicle to recover my jacket when I reach my destination. That now ends January 1.
Agreed. For tactical and social reasons, I prefer conceament.
But, just today I got a glimpse of the benefit of open carry.
We stopped by Wal*Mart after church, and when we returned to our car, there was a young, Hispanic guy standing near it, shouting in Spanish to some others, a couple of rows away.
But, when I stepped to the back door of the car to hang my jacket inside, he glimpsed my sidearm.
Immediately, his voice level dropped several decibels, he switched to English, smiled, stepped back away from our car, and said, "Good afternoon, Sir!"...

I guess that supports the old saying, "An armed society is a polite society"...
...and point the muzzle downrange and punch holes in paper... '-)
I haven’t looked in some time. I am looking forward to heads exploding come next January.
My office is in Austin. Heh heh heh.
