ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — Minnesota military families are getting their own Memorial at the State Capitol.

The State of Minnesota today dedicated the moving tribute to military families on the grounds of the Capitol building Saturday. It’s the first place in the country that honors the families of active military members and veterans.

Hundreds of people wandered through the 87 boulders representing Minnesota’s 87 counties at the new memorial Saturday afternoon. Each rock is inscribed with excerpts of letters from loved ones to soldiers, or soldiers to their loved ones back home.

I don’t care what you think about the Seals, SF, Rangers, Airborne, or whatever.

The toughest job in the military is being the Battalion Commander’s wife.

Nice piece, but I don't think it's the first...

This is at the entrance to the military cemetery at Ft. Huachuca, where you'll find graves dating back to 1877. I don't know how old the statue is, but it was there when I first arrived here in 1988.
